Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review - Twinfinite

Added: 10.05.2013 20:17 | 11 views | 0 comments

Tyler writes, "Blood Dragon takes a much more risky approach than most DLC's do, both by being stand-alone and by deviating entirely from the source material. Where Far Cry 3 has colorful jungles, Blood Dragon has an oppressive post-nuclear jungle viewed through heavy scan-lines. Your new protagonist, Rex Power Colt, is a Mark IV cyber-soldier equipped with cyber vision, cyber legs, and even boasts a cybernetic arm. If it's not obvious enough for you, Rex is everything you'd expect from a 1980's action hero. He's even played by Michael Biehn, who gives a pretty great "bad" performance."

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - A Cheap Knock Off (GamersBliss)

Added: 10.05.2013 19:20 | 9 views | 0 comments

GamersBliss.com writes: "Far Cry 3 released last year and was easily one of the top shooters to hit consoles and PC. This year Ubisoft decided to throw a bone to fans of the franchise with a new title using the same engine, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The difference is however, is the retail version of Far Cry 3 isnt needed and Blood Dragon is a downloadable arcade game that hit the PSN, Xbox Marketplace and PC. Also bringing in a new crazy theme reminiscent of the 80s Blood Dragon has lasers, metal and well a cyborg as the main character. The premise sounds awesome but is the gameplay?"

Memories of Memories

Unwinnable - Two months ago, a glowy teaser trailer for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon dropped and it felt like something Ive already seen a million times before. (Know that those impressions are coming from someone born two years too late to actually experience the nostalgia being marketed here.)

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review | post it gamer

Added: 10.05.2013 12:18 | 4 views | 0 comments

Martin from postitgamer.com states "For those of you longing for a dose of nostalgia, Far Cry 3 is back with a revamped downloadable spinoff that takes on a more whimsical approach than the original. Blood Dragon is a stand alone title that takes the mechanics of the former and injects it with a grandiose helping of pop-culture references and cyborgs."

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review | VG Republic

Added: 10.05.2013 9:17 | 12 views | 0 comments

VG Republic Writes: Once in a while a game or DLC comes along that initially you think oh, its just an add on to that other game and most of the time you would be right. Then Ubisoft Montreal/Shanghai comes along and slaps your stupid face with awesome and nostalgia. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a stand-alone expansion to Far Cry 3. You dont need the disc to play Blood Dragon just download and enjoy. As good as Far Cry 3 was, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is all that and then some. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is the crazy, balls to the wall action that will keep you laughing and happy as you step into your Delorean crank it to 88 and find the definition of insanity 80s style.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review | NZGamer

Added: 10.05.2013 5:17 | 12 views | 0 comments

NZGamer: "Whether you're playing through the fairly short story, or roaming the open world for hours killing sharks, cyborgs, and laser shooting dinosaurs, the game is just way too much fun. While it hasn't got the depth and detail of Far Cry 3, and consequently has none of the emotional weight of the original game, as an open world FPS it's packed with attitude, style, and a lead with a cybernetic eye who, with the bodies of Sloan's soldiers piling up around him, snarls, 'Send for a medic, I'll kill him too.'"

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review | Xboxer360

Added: 10.05.2013 3:17 | 11 views | 0 comments

Xboxer360: "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a true gamer's game, tapping into the big kid in us all. The exaggerated absurdity of every part makes it what Blood Dragon is all about. If you dont remember the days of CRT televisions, VHS tapes and that amazing catalogue of on the cusp 80s movie making, then maybe youll find it harder to enjoy the nonsensical mayhem that awaits here. Even with that in mind, Im confident that there is something here for everyone. This is quite simply every FPS fanboys dream toy-box. Give it a go."

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review | DarkStation

Added: 10.05.2013 0:17 | 11 views | 0 comments

DarkStation: "Its a shame that Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was forced to be a type of game it clearly isnt. A game just called 'Blood Dragon,' free of its open-world tropical heritage, would have given developers the flexibility they needed to do their vision justice. Compared directly to Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon is a mediocre Far Cry experience. In a more broad scope, Blood Dragon is an unfocused mess that could have used some fat-trimming in development. Fans who just want more Far Cry 3 or have particular nostalgia for the 80s could certainly find worse ways to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon, but youll have to hear some terrible jokes to get there."
